B.R.A.K.E.S. (Be Responsible And Keep Everyone Safe) Teen Pro-Active Driving School

October 16th through October 22nd is National Teen Driver Safety Week, and to help educate teenage drivers on safe driving habits, Kia Motors America has once again teamed up with B.R.A.K.E.S. Driving School for free driving classes.

B.R.A.K.E.S., which stands for Be Responsible and Keep Everyone Safe, was started by Doug Herbert in an effort to educate teens and prepare them for emergency situations on the road. Herbert lost his two sons in a tragic car accident in 2008, and with car crashes being the number-one killer of teens in the United States, he is not alone.

B.R.A.K.E.S. Teen Pro-Active Driving School isn’t your normal driver’s ed class. Both teens and their parents receive hands-on defensive driving lessons from race car drivers, stunt drivers, and law-enforcement officers. Kia is the official vehicle of the school and has provided over 44 vehicles to help support the program.

“Kia places a priority on vehicle safety, and our partnership with B.R.A.K.E.S. reflects our commitment to keeping drivers safe on the road, which begins with practical, hands-on driving experience,” said Michael Sprague, chief operating officer and EVP, KMA. “The B.R.A.K.E.S. program has been proven to improve driving skills and help teens make better decisions when behind the wheel.”

Take the time this week to talk to your own teen drivers about best practices behind the wheel. Stay safe out there, and remember that many of our New Kia Vehicles at DELLA Kia offer advanced safety technology to help keep you and your family even more protected. Stop by for a test drive today.
